Brought Battlefield 1943 – I hope someone turns my xbox on before I get home

I decided to test out the purchase online feature today that microsoft has for xbox live content. Being a fan of the battlefield series I want to get my hands on BF1943 (released today) as soon as possible. Now I purchased it along with worm Armageddon 2 while at work, the only problem is I need to get someone to turn my xbox on before I get home from work so they can download. I think it would be nice if there were a way to wake up the xbox when it receives a new download queue, but these games are pretty small so its not so much of a problem.

Will comment on the two games after playing them. Hopefully 1943 does screenshots like bad company did.

A new beta patch for Battlefield 2 (Includes vista and widescreen support)

I pretty much stopped playing the PC battlefield games after moving over to vista. This was mainly because both 2142 and Battlefield 2 like to crash on my newest PC with vista. Problems aside I have always enjoyed playing battlefield 2 and decided to give this 1.3 GB patch a go. The game runs fine and it looks nice at the newer higher resolutions it supports but there is only a handful of beta servers available. These few servers all seem to run one map 24/7 which means a server gets boring quickly. I can understand people wanting to play on the new maps so hopefully that will change soon. The main problem with this new patch aside from the lack of servers is there is some weird bug that prevents people from join certain servers. I checked it out on the forums and there is no solution yet, so I think I will wait before the patch comes out properly and all the servers move to the new patch before giving it another go. The new maps seem good although I could not play them properly as most of the servers I could actually join had vehicles disabled. To me if someone wants to play battlefield with vehicles disabled why not go play cod? After all Vehicles are the main selling point in the battlefield series are they not?

Decide the Contents of the Next Bad Company Map Pack

There is currently a vote taking place on the Bad Company website that will allow you to help choose the contents of the next map pack. This map pack will contain four of the 6 singleplayer maps converted for conquest mode. The community get to vote on two and DICE will choose the other two. The map pack will thankfully be free which is a suprise considerin EA are not usually the ones to pass up on milking gamers  for money. At the moment Par for the course is leading in votes, for those of you who cannot remember thats the golf course level. With Acta Non Verba looking to be the second community selected map.

Classic Flag Capturing Coming to Bad Company Thursday

Anyone who has the game will probably know that Dice have been working on a free conquest mode update to the game. This adds the flag capturing conquest mode from the previous battlefield titles. It should freshen the game up somewhat and hopefully introduce some new tactics because of the difference in objective. The new mode is out this thursday according to Xbox Live insider, which is a nice suprise fo those who forgot about it.

Naming and Shaming: Bad Company Exploiters

Bad Company allows you to take screen shots to view on your pc, but the screen shots have only recently been available for download on the bad company website. In amongst my screen shots I found this nice little image of a pair of Humvee stat padders caught red handed.
